Every Euro Counts

First we offer you a new article by Peter Lambreghts, entitled 'Every Euro Counts'. The article analyzes the organization of the support of disabled people from an economic point of view. Research points out that working with direct payments is more efficient. In times of economic crisis where every euro counts, this conclusion contains food for thought.

Personal Assistance in Sweden

At our demand the Swedish Independent Living Institute answered a selection of questions which are extremely relevant. How come the government succeeds so in treating more than 19,000 individual files each month? What is the personal assistant's statute? How does Sweden deal with informal care? And how did Sweden ensure that people with an intellectual disability and parents of disabled children can make use of direct payments?
