Introduction

The Expertise Centre Independent Living is a partnership between grassroots organizations working with and for people with disabilities (and their representatives).
Our partners are:

• Gelijke Rechten voor Iedere Persoon met een Handicap, GRIP vzw (Equal Rights for Each Person with Disabilities) - website
• Fokus op Emancipatie vzw (Focus on Emancipation) - website
• Onafhankelijk Leven vzw (Independent Living)  - website

The Expertise Centre gathers knowledge about Independent Living. Within this topic, we focus primarily on direct payments. In Flanders, this means we focus on the Personal Assistance Budget (PAB) and the Personal Budget (PGB).

Our partners use the knowledge we acquire to lobby in Flanders.

A second objective of the Expertise Centre is to disseminate information about Independent Living and working with direct payments. This way, other organizations can also benefit from the knowledge we gather.
